P.J. graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering in 1980. His post graduate studies include Graduating with a CLU (chartered life underwriter) degree from The American College in 2001, and Graduating with a ChFC (chartered financial consultant) degree from The American College in 2002, and completing the requirements for the CLTC (certified in Long Term Care) degree in 2008. P.J. then became a Drilling Engineer with Gulf Oil Company for 7 years. The majority of this time was spent overseas in Africa in oil and gas exploration operations, managing a drilling budget of $50 million dollars per year. When Chevron Oil Company purchased Gulf Oil Company in 1987, P.J. was faced with a decision to relocate to California or find another job. In 1987 a friend of the family offered him an opportunity to stay near home and get into the insurance business:

  • A top producer and a recipient of the National Quality Award every year
  • A Member of the Life Underwriters Association since 1987
  • Appointed as Chairman of the Florida Parishes Association of Life Underwriters Ethics Committee in 1988 and Chairman of Governmental Affairs in 1990
  • Qualified for the Million Dollar Round Table 23 out of 24 years
